Audemars Piguet launches new watches, from Royal Oak to self-winding chronograph
Including the new platinum Royal Oak "Jumbo" with a striking green dial.
Sitting on a sofa in a stylish lounge, overlooking the snow-capped mountains outside Audemars Piguet's manufacturing plant in Le Brassus, Switzerland, CEO François François -Henry Bennahmias) and complication supervisor Michael Friedman (Michael Friedman) spent two hours showing that 2021 is more coming in the fall). They have a lot of mechanical marvels to show, but they also emphasized the company's new partnership with Marvel Comics. Although there is no news about what the new joint venture will bring, it is said that it was inspired by Bennahmias' 11-year friendship with actor Don Cheadle, who played the War Machine in the Avengers film series. But when asked who his favorite character in the comic empire was, Ben Namias told reporters present that he felt that his personality was more in line with the Hulk.
From the perspective of the new series, he kept the paleness and bluff of superheroes in mind when designing.. The big news is the launch of the time and date-only Royal Oak "Jumbo" ultra-thin platinum sunburst green dial, replacing the brand's typical waffle pattern tapestry dial. Tourbillon and Chronograph models also launched four other green Royal Oaks with tapestry dials. The sturdy Royal Oak for divers and the more bulky Royal Oak Offshore Self-winding Tourbillon with a flyback chronograph will also be offered, as well as the Diamond and Pure Gold versions of the Royal Oak.
However, although the Royal Oak continues to be the star of Audemars Piguet, the company is still optimistic about the Code 11.59 series, launching two new chronographs with ceramic middle cases. Although the series has only been launched for two years, Bennahmias must point out a screen that shows about 30 production changes. So far, Code 11.59 is still another self of the brand, more in line with Bruce Banner than the Hulk, but real-life superheroes are not formed overnight.

Audemars Piguet launched a limited edition of the all-titanium Royal Oak perpetual calendar specially designed for the Chinese market. Limited edition of 88 pieces, celebrating the long history of the watch factory and China. Audemars Piguet chose a special complication that reflects the brand's DNA for this limited edition watch. Equipped with an ultra-light titanium case and bracelet, alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The slate-grey "Grande Tapisserie" dial is in subtle contrast with the black subdial, inner bezel and white hour markers. The red color of the day hand subtly evokes traditional Chinese symbols of happiness and passion.
The watch is equipped with two additional straps: a red rubber strap that echoes the color of the dial and a gray hand-stitched alligator strap that matches the aesthetics of the case and dial. This limited edition will be sold exclusively in China and was developed in collaboration with Austen Chu (@horoloupe on Instagram), who has contributed to the overall aesthetics. In the past few years, Austen has been able to organically share his passion for watches with more and more fans on Instagram, and he became a member of the AP family after visiting the watch factory in Le Brassus in 2017.
For Austen Chu, “This watch embodies both tradition and modernity. It complements the craftsmanship. We chose to compare the bronze titanium metal with the dark red week indicator with the strap to incorporate my Chinese tradition. In the work. Being able to work with AP is a truly interesting and eye-opening experience.” This special edition is limited to 88 pieces, to pay tribute to China's lucky number-an auspicious symbol.
The new Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar China Limited Edition is numbered 26609TI.OO.1220TI.01, equipped with a 41 mm titanium case and equipped with a 5134 movement. The back of the watch contains information about the limited edition of the watch, not including any unique numbers for each piece.
The Associated Press previously released the Pride of the Royal Oak of China in 2008, which is a 500-piece limited edition that combines steel and rose gold with a date and moon display.
