The line between "me the people" and "we the people" really hits home after watching how quickly individual fandoms can splinter a shared reading community. It reminds me of the debates we see over danmei versus xianxia preferences at https://tuoverse.com, where everyone wants their niche to lead the conversation. That pull between personal taste and collective enjoyment is a tightrope.
